The denomination is 1,000 Yuan and the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money
(SCWPM) Number is P-1988.

(obverse)
The banknote is blue-black on multicolored under print. Chiang Kai-shek
(1887-1975), Chinese statesman and military leader is at left. Chiang and
the Nationalist government, relocated from mainland China to Taiwan in 1949
where he (Chiang Kai-shek) remained president until his death in 1975.
The note is dated 1981 (in Chinese characters).

Presidential building at right center. The construction of the Presidential
building took place between 1912 to 1919. It served as the office of the
Taiwan governor-general during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. The
building was renamed Chieh Shou Hall in honor of Chiang Kai-shek's 60th birthday
and has been the used as the office of the President since 1949.
