The Bermuda 20 Dollars is part of the 2009 banknote series which was issued to commemorate the 40th year of service of the Bermuda Monetary Authority and the 400th year of settlement of Bermuda by explorer Sir George Somers. This particular paper banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Authority. On its obverse are a whistling frog, a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, a lizard, and flowers. The reverse of the banknote depicts Saint Marks church in Smiths Parish, a flower, butterflies, and the Gibbs Hill lighthouse which is located in Southampton Parish. The banknote is 136 x 69 mm in size and is in a vertical orientation. Its security features include an Optiks security thread and a watermark which consists of a hibiscus flower, an electrotype sailboat, and Cornerstones.
