This uncirculated 1,000 Costa Rican colon banknote is dated 11 September 2013 and signed by Rodrigo Bolaños Zamora and Felix Delgado Quesada. It is a red polymer note that has embossed dots above the watermark area and dimensions of 125 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side features Braulio Carrillo Colino, the original ESTADO DE COSTA RICA shield, and a map of Costa Rica on a see-through leaf. Its reverse side depicts a dry forest landscape (bosque seco) in Guanacaste, pitahaya cactus flowers, and a white-tailed deer.
