This India 5 Rupee banknote from 2010 is part of the 2005 - 2012 Dated series. The banknote's front design depicts a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian lawyer, and political ethicist who led a successful movement for India's independence from the British colony. Alongside Gandhi's portrait is the ancient Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar, flowers, and the RBI seal with tiger and palm tree. The reverse side of the note depicts a farmer plowing a field using a modern tractor with a beautiful sunrise in the background along with the printing date of the note on the lower center. The banknote's security features of the note include a windowed security thread with demetalized RBI and Hindu text, and a watermark image of Mahatma Gandhi, vertical RBI, and numeric 5. The note measures 118 x 63 mm.
