The landlocked nation of Czechoslovakia emerged from several provinces of Austria-Hungary that became the most prosperous Eastern European country in 1918. The country was composed of Bohemia, Moravia, and Slovakia. 

Between 1938 and 1945, the state was occupied by the Nazi Germany, and in 1948 until 1989, it became a member of the Soviet and in January 1993, through a peaceful separation, Czechoslovakia became the Czech Republic and Slovakia. 

From 1919 until 1939, the Czechoslovak koruna was the state’s currency and again from November 1, 1945 to February 7, 1993. On February 8, 1993, it was replaced by the Czech koruna and the Slovak koruna. 

In July, 1919 Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovak coins were introduced in 1921, in denominations of 20 and 50 haleru. In 1922, coins in 2 haleru and 5 haleru denominations were issued, followed by the 5 korun in 1925. 

In 1930, a 10-korun coin was issued, and in 1933, a 25 haleru and 20 korun coins were issued. On February 8, 1993, the currency was replaced by the currencies of the two separate states, the Czech koruna and the Slovak koruna.
