Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui to the indigenous people, is a Chilean-governed island in the southeastern tip of the Polynesian triangle in the Pacific Ocean. Easter Island is famous for its moai statues. Most of the island is a world heritage site protected by the Rapa Nui National Park.
As a special territory of Chile, Easter Island uses the Chilean peso as its official currency. Coins of Easter Island are not legal tender and are produced by the Osborne Coinage in Ohio.
