Afghanistan 10,000 Afghanis Banknote, 1993, P-63a, Used

The 10,000 Afghani banknote, whose large denomination was necessitated by the inflation brought about by the Soviet invasion and the Afghan civil war, was first issued in 1993. The blue, green, and red banknote measures 171 mm long and 76 mm wide. This particular version was printed by Goznak, and has the Da and Afghanistan, from the Da Afghanistan Bank name printed at the back of the note, joined. The obverse side of the note features the Friday Mosque (Masjid-I Jami) in Herat, as well as the banks seal. The reverse side of the note features the Arch of Qala-e-Bost in Lashkar Gah. The note has a solid green security thread with a printed 10000 and text, and a watermark of the bank seal.
