The blue 100 Algerian dinar note was introduced by the Central Bank of Algeria in 1981. This banknote has a serial number that starts in 236 and bears the signatures of Bank Governor Mahloud Aoufi and Secretary of the Public Treasury Hanifi Hamed. Its obverse side depicts a village with minarets with swallows flying around. Its reverse side portrays a man stooped between the ruins of ksar and two ships. The security features of the note include a solid security thread with printed B C ALGERIE and a watermark of Abd al-Qadir, the Algerian leader who led the resistance against the French invasion.
