The Algeria 2,000 Dinar banknote issued in 2011 is part of the banknote series that highlights science, technology, urban development, agriculture, and water resources. This particular bill has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty. The obverse of the note features a university professor giving a lecture to students in an amphitheater. It also depicts three researchers in a scientific laboratory with a microscope and beakers. A satellite and a double-helix DNA strand are also visible. The back of the note shows a body of water and urban high-rise buildings, wheat, a palm tree, and an olive tree. This 160 x 71.7 mm paper banknote has a 13-mm wide LEAD holographic stripe as well as a windowed security thread with the bank name in demetallized Arabic text. Furthermore, its watermark consists of the Emir Abdelkader pattern.
