The Argentina 50 Peso banknote is part of the banknote series issued in 1999 introducing new vignettes. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and is TAP authenticated. The obverse features the 7th president of Argentina Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. It also depicts an unknown scene with a crowd of people. Another notable element is the manuscript of Vida de Dominguito which is a biography of his adopted son who died at the Currupayty Battle. Furthermore, the banknote bears an image of a fountain pen as its registration device. The back of the note displays a pyramid, trees, a flag, and the Casa de Gobierno or the Governors House building located in Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires. The banknote also shows the La Portena locomotive which was the first Argentine train to run on the Buenos Aires Western Railway. The El Progresso scroll with a quill and an inkwell is also visible. Other notable elements of the banknote are the national emblem, a sailing ship, and European immigrants. This 155 x 65 mm paper bill has a windowed security thread with a demetallized BCRA $50. It also bears an image of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento and an electrotype DFS as its watermark.
