This Bahamian half-dollar note is part of the 2001 series of banknotes issued by the Central Bank of the Bahamas and bears the signature of Bank Governor Julian W. Francis. It is an orange, gray, blue, and brown note that measures 156 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side features Queen Elizabeth II, straw baskets, and a map. Its reverse side shows the national coat of arms and Sister Sarah Johnson in the Nassau Market. Security features include a sand dollar registration device, a windowed security thread with a demetallized BAHAMAS, and a watermark of a Spanish galleon. It is also a superb gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced very minor handling, and has slightly off-center margins and registration. Thus, it is graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
