Issued in 2001, the Bahamas half dollar comes with added security features and colors as well as new portraits and patterns in the background . This particular paper bill has been given a grade of 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty. The banknote depicts on its obverse a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara and the royal family order of King George VI. It also displays straw baskets and a map. Furthermore, the banknote also shows a sand dollar as its registration device. On its reverse are bananas, the national emblem, and artisan weaver Sister Sarah Johnson in the Nassau market with fish and fruit. The paper banknote which is 156 x 67 mm in size bears a windowed security thread with a demetallized BAHAMAS. It also has a watermark which consists of a Spanish galleon.
