This half Bahamian dollar note is the smallest denomination issued by the Central Bank of the Bahamas in 2001. It has the A prefix and the signature of Central Bank Governor Julian W. Francis. Its obverse side contains straw baskets, English text, a map of the Bahamas, and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara and the royal family order of King George VI. Its reverse side features Sister Sarah Johnson in the Nassau market and the national emblem. Security features of the note include a sand dollar registration device, a windowed security thread with demetalized BAHAMAS, and a Spanish galleon watermark. Its dimensions are 156 mm by 67 mm. This note has above average margins and registration, a Paper Money Guaranty grade of 67, and Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ).
