The Bahamas half dollar banknote was issued by the Central Bank of the Bahamas in 2001. It is a standard banknote in a color combination of green and yellow. The obverse side features Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara and the royal family order of King George VI. It also depicts straw baskets and a map. The banknote’s reverse side displays bananas, the coat of arms of the Bahamas, and artisan weaver Sister Sarah Johnson in the Nassau market with fish and fruit. Security features of this 156 x 67 mm paper bill include a sand dollar registration device, a windowed security thread with a demetallized BAHAMAS, and a watermark consisting of an image of a Spanish galleon. It also bears the signature of Governor Julian W. Francis. This particular replacement banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated by Banknote World experts.
