The Bahamas half dollar banknote is part of the family of notes issued in 1974 - 1984 which illustrates island life on its reverse side. This particular banknote has been given a grade of 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty. A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the tiara of the Grand Duchess Vladimir and the golden jubilee necklace of Queen Victoria is depicted on the banknotes front side. Sunbathers on Paradise beach as well as a map are also depicted on the obverse. The reverse of the banknote features bananas, artisan straw weaver Sister Sarah Johnson in Nassau market with fish and fruit, and the national emblem of the Bahamas. The 156 x 67 mm paper bill has a sand dollar as its registration device. It also has a solid security thread and a watermark which consists of an image of a Spanish galleon.
