The Bahamas 1 Dollar is part of the CRISP or Counterfeit Resistant Integrated Security Product issues. The CRISP issues are the first to have specific features designed for each denomination to prevent forgeries. This particular Bahamas 1 dollar banknote has been given a grade of 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty. On the obverse is a portrait of Lynden O. Pindling who is known as the Father of the Nation of Bahamas. A green foil fish, a map, and embossed flamingoes are also presented on the banknotes obverse. The reverse of the note displays the Royal Bahamas police band, yellow elder flowers, and the national emblem. Furthermore, the note bears a sand dollar as its registration device. It also has a solid security thread and a violet-to-green windowed security thread with a demetallized BAHAMAS. This 156 x 67 mm paper note has an image of Lynden O. Pindling and an electrotype 1 as its watermark.
