The Bahrain 5 Dinar banknote was introduced by the the Central Bank of Bahrain between 2016 and 2018 under the 2006 Authorization Law. The blue banknote features the Shaikh Isa House in Muharraq and the Riffa at the Sharqi Fortress in Hunainiya Valley on the obverse. The reverse of the note depicts the Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) smelter building and the first oil well in Bahrain. The note contains a windowed green-to-red StarChrome security thread with a demetallized CBB. It also carries the signature of Sheikh Khalifa bin Sulman al Kalifa and a watermark that reflects King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa with an electrotype FIVE in English and Arabic text.
