The Belize 5 Dollars Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Belize in 1996. It has a color combination of red, carmine, and orange. Its obverse features Queen Elizabeth II wearing Grand Duchess Vladimir’s tiara and Queen Victoria’s golden jubilee necklace. It also depicts a jade head, Thomas Potts medallion, the coat of arms of Belize, and a school of queen triggerfish and queen angelfish. The reverse depicts a battleship, a keel-billed toucan and Baird’s tapir. Also on the reverse are the St. George’s Caye bathing kraals, Thomas Potts’ tomb, the map of St. George’s Caye, summer residence, and a cannon. The note contains a windowed security thread and a carved head of the sleeping giant watermark. The banknote is 157 x 68 mm in size and bears the signatures of Keith Arnold, Jaime Alpuche, and Anwar Flores. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
