Homer Jay Simpson is the protagonist of The Simpsons, the longest running American animated sitcom of all time. He is the father of the eponymous family and a blue collared worker who lives in Springfield. Even though Homer is an embodiment of American working-class stereotypes. Homer has also had a number of remarkable experiences despite his suburban blue-collar lifestyle, including going to space, winning a Grammy as a member of a barbershop quartet, and fighting former president George H. Homer is voiced by Dan Castellaneta. He first appeared in The Tracey Ullman Show short “Good Night” in 1987. After appearing for three seasons on The Tracey Ullman Show, the Simpsons received their own series on Fox. The show debuted in 1989 and has continued airing until now.
