New Modern Greek Banknote Design

The Greek Drachma was in use for many centuries. The modern Drachma was first introduced in 1832. The design for these notes was taken from ancient Greek architecture, depicting various columns and other architectural features found at many temples built during classical times. This same style/theme was continued into later generations of Drachma. This banknote looks more like a coupon than a traditional banknote but, the effigy’s really make it artistic.
