Today we take the time out to congratulate Queen Elizabeth II on her 95th birthday. We also send our condolences on the passing of her husband Prince Philip. Her official birthday is on April 21, 1926. She has been ruling since 1952 so this will be here 69 year anniversary in power. She has world wide recognition and has been very influential in the numismatic industry. You can find portraits of her on many banknotes, coins and stamps. One of the first banknotes to feature her is the Canada 20 Dollars, 1935. It features a portrait of her as a child on the front left hand corner. This would be the beginning of decades full of banknotes and coins with her image.
