Bangladesh is a country that has had to fight hard for its independence. After the partition of India, the territory became part of Pakistan, it became known as East Pakistan. However, when the Pakistani government became too oppressive towards its Bengali population, and many people began pushing for independence. India also aided them in their fight for independence. Towards the end of 2022 you can say that the Central Bank of Bangladesh was quite busy. They released 50 Taka banknote commemorating the inauguration of Bangladesh’s First Metro Rail but, that same month they also released another banknote.
On December 18, 2022 the Central Bank of Bangladesh issued a new commemorative 50 Taka banknote. This banknote celebrates the Golden Jubilee (50 Years) of the Constitution and the Supreme Court of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The constitution of Bangladesh was made effective on December 16, 1972. It’s the supreme law of the country and lays down all the legal framework of the country. The supreme court of Bangladesh was established in the capital Dhaka also in the year 1972.
The Constitution & Supreme Court Golden Jubilee Banknote
The banknote is colored in shades of red and also white. The obverse side features a portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was a politician and the founder of Bangladesh. He also served as the first president of Bangladesh. In the background you can also find an image of the Bangladesh National Parliament located in the capital Dhaka. On the right side of the banknote is also a golden Jubilee of the constitution logo and a miniature image of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
The reverse side of the banknote features a large image of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in Dhaka. In the upper right hand corner you can also find an image of the Bank of Bangladesh seal. What do you think of the new release from the Bangladesh Bank?
