Not Your Traditional Denomination

The special 75,000 Rupiah denomination commemorates the 75 years of independence and they also printed 75 Million notes.

It’s the first ever denomination of its kind released by Bank Indonesia. It follows the same trend used by other central banks who have come up with special non traditional denominations to commemorate significant events or people. For example Djibouti 40 Francs to commemorate 40 years of independence. Fiji 7 Dollars to commemorate an Olympic Gold Medal win by their national rugby team named the 7s. Last but, not least the Solomon Islands 40 Dollars to commemorate 40 years of independence.
