Banknote Shows Going on in 2016

The beauty of banknote collecting is the ability to experience a little piece of various cultures from around the world. The paper currency of each country gives clues that offer insight into the country’s society, such as its famous figures or historic landmarks. Attending trade shows heighten this intercultural experience, allowing the opportunity to visit foreign places and connect with remarkable and diverse people.

Here are some great banknote shows exhibiting in the United States and worldwide:

FUN Show

The Florida United Numismatists Inc. (FUN) is a Florida-based organization that hosts one of the largest coin and banknote shows in the United States. The 10th annual FUN Show is held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida in early July. The three-day show is kid friendly, has over 200 vendors, and thousands of enthusiastic attendees. Collectors can exhibit their goods under eight different exhibit categories. This is the perfect show for U.S. citizens to network and find traders to stay in contact with.

Chicago Paper Money Exposition

The Chicago Paper Money Exposition has been in existence for 22 years and is held in Rosemont, Illinois. A feature that stands out with this show is a rare items auction hosted by Lyn F. Knight, of Lyn Knight Auctions, a firm known for showcasing a wide variety of hard-to-find currencies.   The Chicago Paper Money Exposition is a great hub for networking and is located in an area surrounded by great restaurants in close proximity to the O’Hare Airport. For collectors who take an interest in auctions, this show is a definite must-see.
