King Charles III of the United Kingdom was born on November 14, 1948 in Buckingham Palace, London, England. He is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II the former reigning monarch of the United Kingdom and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Early Life

He was educated at Gordonstoun School, a private school in Scotland. He studied archaeology, anthropology and eventually history at Cambridge University from 1967 to 1970 and graduated with a 2:2 Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

He earned his military training at Royal Air Force where he trained as a pilot. Afterwards he began a career at the Royal Navy, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfathers. He served on various destroyers and frigates. His time serving abroad helped him develop a deep appreciation for other cultures and people from different areas around the world—an interest that would later influence many decisions made throughout his life.

He married Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981 at St Paul’s Cathedral in London; they had two sons: Prince William (born 1982) and Prince Harry (born 1984). The couple divorced in 1996 after 11 years of marriage due to personal reasons; however, they remained friends until her death on August 31st 1997. In 2005 Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles; they have one daughter together.

King Charles is patron or president of over 400 organisations including charities such as The Prince’s Trust and The Prince’s Charities non for profit organization. They collaborate with other charity organizations in mostly commonwealth nations. In addition he served as Prince of Wales from 1958 until his accession to the throne upon his mother’s death on September 8, 2022. The Royal Mint announced that as soon as December 2022 new UK 50 Pence coins remembering Queen Elizabeth II will start to feature a portrait of King Charles III. The mint will release 9.6 million coins. The official portrait of King Charles III was created by acclaimed British artist Martin Jennings [1]. You can actually see some of the coins at the Royal Mints visitor center in South Wales right now. There are billions of coins and banknotes in circulation right now and over time they will be replaced as needed. What do you think of the new coin?
