The Brazil 1,000 Cruzados Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Brazil in 1988. It comes in a color combination of purple, orange, green, brown, and red. Depicted on its obverse is writer Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis. It also features handwritten text and laurels. The reverse of the note displays a street scene of Rio de Janeiro on 1st March 1905 with buildings, a church, trees, pedestrians, and horse-drawn trolleys. The note contains a solid security thread with printed BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL and a watermark that reveals Machado de Assis. It measures 154 x 74 mm and carries the signatures of Mailson Ferreira Da Nobrega and Elmo de Araujo Camoes. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
