Reviews:

The 5 Brazilian centavo note is part of the provisional cruzeiro novo series issued by the Central Bank of Brazil in 1966 ND. These notes have black circular overprints that indicate the new denomination. The 5 centavo overprint is printed on the 50 cruzeiros note. Its color scheme is purple, orange, blue, green, and red. Its obverse side contains the black circular BANCO CENTRAL 5 CENTAVOS overprint and the portrait of Isabela, the Princess Imperial of Brazil. Its reverse side depicts the LEI AUREA, the golden law of 1888 that abolished slavery, by showing a woman holding a stone tablet with open shackles, chains, and stocks. The note does not have a watermark nor a security thread. However, its dimensions are 157 mm by 67 mm. The note was printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company, LTD. It is signed by Presidente do Banco Central Denio Chagas Nogueira and Ministro da Fazenda Octavio Gouvea de Bulhoes. The title of Ministro is misspelled as MINSTRO. This note is in uncirculated condition.
