The Brazil 5 Cruzeiros was issued in 1962-1964 during the Republic of the United States of Brazil government. Centered on the obverse of the banknote is a framed in-profile image of Jose Maria da Silva Paranhos who was the Viscount of Rio Branco. The reverse of the banknote depicts the painting by Antonio Parreiras called the Conquista do Amazonas or the Conquest of the Amazons. The banknote is predominantly in brown with a multicolored background. Printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company, Limited, the banknote is 157 x 67 mm in size and is made of paper. This particular Brazil 5 Cruzeiros comes in uncirculated condition.
