The Brazil 5 Reais is part of the banknote series issued in 2010 with a pick number P-253a. The banknote comes with tactile elements that help people with vision problems distinguish between denominations. This banknote is in exceptional paper quality and has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty. On its obverse is an effigy of Brazil’s personification, Republica. The reverse features a great egret which is known as Garca or Casmerodius albus standing in a swamp. As part of its security features, the banknote has a puzzle number as its registration device and an egret and electrotype 5 as its watermarks. The 128 x 65 mm paper bill is printed by the Casa Da Moeda Do Brasil and carries the signatures of Guido Mantega and Henrique De Campos Meirelles.
