The Brazil 50 Cruzados is part of the family of notes issued in 1986 bearing a phrase Deus Seja Louvado which means God be praised. Banknotes from this series has its denomination in the new cruzados currency engraved on its front and back. This particular paper bill comes in uncirculated condition. Its obverse features a microscope and a portrait of Brazilian physician and epidemiologist Oswaldo Goncalvez Cruz. The reverse of the banknote depicts trees and the Neo-Mauresque Palace of Manguinhos building at the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz which is situated in Rio de Janeiro. The banknote is 154 x 74 mm in size and is made of paper. It has a solid security thread with printed BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL. It also has a watermark which consists of Oswaldo Cruz.
