The Bulgaria 1,000 leva banknote issued in 1994 is in uncirculated condition and comes with a fancy serial number. It features on its obverse the revolutionary and Bulgarian national hero Vasil Levski. Furthermore, it shows the Liberated Bulgaria, a legendary work by Bulgarian Renaissance artist Georgi Danchov, which depicts a standing allegorical woman holding a flag and a sword with a lion beside her. On the back of the note is Vasil Levskis monument found in Sofia. Other visible elements on the note are a pistol, a cross, and a dagger on a book. This 149 x 74 mm paper bill has a portrait of Vasil Levski as its watermark. It also has a solid security thread and bears the signatures of Governor Todor Vulchev and Chief Cashier Lyuben Ivanov.
