The Bulgaria 1,000 Leva Banknote was issued by the Bulgarian National Bank in 1997 in tan and olive green color combinations. The obverse of the paper bill depicts a portrait of revolutionary Vasil Levski, a rampant lion, and Georgi Danchov’s allegorical woman “Liberated Bulgaria” holding a flag and a sword with a ion. The reverse of the banknote depicts the Vasil Levski monument in Sofia with a pistol, cross, and a dagger on a book. The banknote contains a solid security thread with a demetallized Bulgarian text and a watermark that shows Vasil Levski. It measures 149 x 74 mm and is in uncirculated condition. This particular note has also been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
