Bulgaria 5,000 Leva Banknote, 1996, P-108, UNC

The Bulgaria 5,000 Leva Banknote was issued by the Bulgarian National Bank in 1996. It comes in a color combination of lilac and orange and bears Bulgarian text. The obverse of the paper bill depicts writer Zahari Stoyanov, the coat of arms of Bulgaria, and a quill with Stoyanov’s writing. The reverse of the note features the Monument in Plovdiv dedicated to Eastern Roumelia’s union with Bulgaria. It also reflects the text of the proclamation of 1885 and a rampant lion. The paper bill contains a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with demetallized Bulgarian text, and a watermark that reveals Zahari Stoyanov. The note is 161 x 80 mm in size and is signed by Lyuben Ivanov and Lyubomir Filipov. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
