Bulgaria 5,000 Leva Banknote, 1997, P-111, UNC

The Bulgaria 5,000 Leva Banknote was issued by the Bulgarian National Bank in 1997. It has a color combination of lilac and orange. Featured on the obverse are writer Zahari Stoyanov, the coat of arms of Bulgaria, and a quill with Stoyanov’s writing. The reverse of the paper bill depicts a monument in Plovdiv dedicated to the Eastern Roumelia’s union with Bulgaria. It also shows the text of the proclamation of independence of 1885 and a rampant lion. The banknote has a solid security thread with a demetallized Bulgarian text and a watermark that reveals Zahari Stoyanov. It is 161 x 80 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition.
