The Canada 5 Dollars released by the Bank of Canada in 2013 is part of the countrys Polymer issues which was released in response to the high counterfeiting rate in the country. Graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty, this banknote features on its front Wilfrid Laurier who served as the 7th Prime Minister of Canada. A maple leaf is also visible on the obverse. The reverse of the banknote depicts stars and maple leaves. It also displays the Canadarm2 which is a robotic Mobile Servicing System, a Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator named Dextre, and an astronaut above Canada on Earth. The banknote has a holographic stripe that shows Wilfrid Laurier and the West Block tower of the Parliament in Ottawa. Although the 152 x 70 mm note has no security thread and no watermark, the note is protected against counterfeiting by its polymer substrate component. This particular Canada 5 Dollars comes in exceptional paper quality and has been graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
