The Cape Verde 1,000 Escudos Banknote was issued by the Bank of Cape Verde in 1989. This brown banknote bears Portuguese text and was printed by Thomas De La Rue and Company Ltd. Its obverse features independence movement leader Amilcar Cabral. The reverse of the note depicts pierid butterflies and a desert locust. The banknote contains a registration device in the form of an ear of corn, a solid security thread with printed BCV, and a watermark that reveals Amilcar Cabral. It measures 143 x 67 mm and is in uncirculated condition. This particular banknote has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
