The Cape Verde 1,000 Escudos Banknote was issued by the Bank of Cape Verde in 1992. This specimen banknote is predominantly brown and bears a diagonal red ESPECIME overprint on both sides. Its obverse side shows the Cape Verde swamp warbler bird (Acrocephalus brevipennis keulemans). Its reverse side is vertically oriented and shows Pierid butterflies and a desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria). Security features include a solid security thread with printed BCV, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Amilcar Cabral. It is 143 mm x 67 mm and is signed by Bank Governor Oswaldo Miguel Sequeira and Finance Minister Jose Tomas Wahnon Veiga. This specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
