The Cape Verde 1,000 Escudos Banknote was issued by the Bank of Cape Verde in 2002. It is predominantly brown. The obverse features Acrocephalus brevpennia keulemans (Cape Verde Swamp-warbler) bird. The reverse is in a vertical orientation and displays pierid butterflies, a desert locust, the coat of arms of Cape Verde, and an ear of corn. The banknote contains a solid security thread with demetallized BCV. Its watermark reveals Amilcar Cabral. It is 143 x 67 mm in size and is signed by Olavo Avelino Garcia Correia and Joao Andrade Lopes. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
