Cape Verde 1,000 Escudos Banknote, 2002, P-65b, UNC

This uncirculated 1,000 Cape Verdean escudo banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Cape Verde. It is a brown banknote that is dated 1 July 2002, bear the signatures of Joao de Andrade Lopes and Olavo Avelino Garcia Correia, and measures 143 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side shows a Cape Verde swamp warbler (Acrocephalus brevipennis keulemans). Its reverse side depicts Pierid butterflies, the national coat of arms, and a desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria). Security features include a solid security thread with printed BCV, an ear of corn registration device, and a watermark of Amilcar Cabral. The note was withdrawn in 2008.
