This uncirculated 1,000 Cape Verdean escudo banknote is a specimen banknote issued by the Bank of Cape Verde on 25 September 2007. It is a purple, blue, green, and yellow banknote that bear the signatures of Bank Governor Carlos Augusto de Burgo and Administrator Manuel Pinto Frederico, and measures 136 mm x 66 mm. Both sides of the banknote are vertically oriented and contain a diagonal red ESPECIME overprint. Its obverse side also shows a medallion made of dragon tree leaves, a holographic inkwell with a quill, a horizontal red # overprint, and a portrait of Antonio Aurelio Goncalves, a writer and professor. Its reverse side also features the landscape of Chanzinha on the island of Sau Nicolau. Security features include a solid security thread, a 4-mm windowed security thread with a demetalized BCV 1000, a hand-with-pen registration device, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Antonio Aurelio Goncalves with an electrotype 1000. The banknote was withdrawn in 2020. The details of the note have been verified and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
