The Cape Verde 1,000 Escudos was released by the Bank of Cape Verde in 2014. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and TAP Authenticated. Its obverse features Cape Verdean composer and musician Gregorio Vaz, who was popularly known as Code De Dona, playing an accordion. Other notable elements on the banknotes obverse are a holographic patch with musical notes and a flying bird, a vine, a seashore, and an embossed bird. The reverse of the banknote depicts a musician holding a ferrino, a bird in flight, a musical instrument commonly used in the funana genre, the sun, and birds in flight. The banknote has a 4-mm windowed security thread with a demetalized BCV 1000 and a vine. Additionally, the 136 x 66 mm paper banknote bears a watermark that reflects Code de Dona with an electrotype vine and Cornerstones.
