Cape Verde 1,000 Escudos Banknote, 2014, P-73s, UNC, Specimen

This uncirculated 1,000 Cape Verdean banknote is a specimen banknote issued by the Bank of Cape Verde that is dated 5 June 2014 and signed by Bank Governor Carlos Augusto de Burgo and Administrator Manuel Pinto Frederico. It is a blue, purple, green, yellow, and pink banknote that measures 136 mm x 66 mm. Both sides of the banknote include a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Its obverse side honors the composer and musician Code de Dona (Gregorio Vaz) with a holographic patch with musical notes and a bird in flight, an embossed bird, and his portrait. Its reverse side depicts a musician playing a ferrinho with the sun and birds in flight. Security features include a 4-mm windowed security thread with a demetalized BCV 1000 and vine, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Code de Dona with an electrotype vine and Cornerstones.
