Cape Verde 100 Escudos Banknote, 1989, P-57, UNC

The Cape Verde 100 Escudos was issued in 1989 by the Bank of Cape Verde with a pick number P-57. The obverse bears a portrait of an older Amilcar Cabral. The reverse of the banknote features men with drums and women with large mortar and pestle celebrating the Festival of the Pestle or Festa do Pilao. Mount Cano or Fogo volcano is shown in the background. The Coat of Arms of Cape Verde is also displayed on the lower right of the note. The banknotes security features include a registration device in the form of an ear of a corn, a solid security thread with printed BCV, and a watermark that reflects Amilcar Cabral. This particular Cape Verde 100 Escudos comes in uncirculated condition.
