The Cape Verde 2,000 Escudos specimen banknote was issued by the Bank of Cape Verde in 2014. It has a color combination of peach, light blue, brownish-red, and green and bears a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint on both sides. Its obverse side shows a horizontal red number overprint, musical notes on a staff, an embossed turtle, and a portrait of singer Cesaria Evora. Its reverse side depicts a violin with a beach in the background. Security features include a 4-mm wide windowed security thread with a demetalized BCV 2000 and microphone, a holographic stripe with a demetalized microphone and musical notes, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Cesaria Evora with an electrotype microphone and Cornerstones. It is 142 mm x 71 mm in size and is signed by Bank Governor Carlos Augusto de Burgo and Administrator Manuel Pinto Frederico. This specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
