This uncirculated 2,000 Cape Verdean escudo banknote is a specimen banknote issued by the Bank of Cape Verde. It is a peach, light blue, brownish-red, and green banknote that measures 142 mm x 71 mm, is dated 5 June 2014, and bears the signatures of Bank Governor Carlos Augusto de Burgo and Administrator Manuel Pinto Frederico. Both sides contain a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Its obverse side shows a horizontal red number overprint, musical notes on a staff, an embossed turtle, and a portrait of singer Cesaria Evora. Its reverse side depicts a violin with a beach in the background. Security features include a 4-mm wide windowed security thread with a demetalized BCV 2000 and microphone, a holographic stripe with a demetalized microphone and musical notes, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Cesaria Evora with an electrotype microphone and Cornerstones.
