This uncirculated 5,000 Cape Verdean escudo banknote is a specimen banknote issued by the Bank of Cape Verde. It is a purple, light blue, orange, and yellow banknote that is dated 5 June 2014, bear the signatures of Bank Governor Carlos Augusto de Burgo and Administrator Manuel Pinto Frederico, and measures 148 mm x 74 mm. Both sides of the banknote contain a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Its obverse side shows islands superimposed on a house exterior, stylized waves, an embossed map of Africa, and a portrait of Aristides Maria Pereira, the first president of Cape Verde. Its reverse side shows the map of Boa Vista and the home of Aristides Maria Pereira. Security features include a red-to-green windowed security thread with a demetalized BCV 5000 and torch, a map of Africa registration device, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Aristides Maria Pereira with an electrotype torch and Cornerstones.
