This uncirculated 500 Cape Verdean escudo banknote is a specimen banknote issued by the Bank of Cape Verde. It is a blue banknote that is dated 1 June 2002, bear the signatures of Bank Administrator Joao de Andrade Lopes and Bank Governor Olavo Avelino Garcia Correla, and measures 136 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side shows the writer Doutor Baltasar Lopes da Silva, a horizontal red # overprint, and a diagonal red ESPECIMEN overprint. Its reverse side depicts the Sao Vicente CABMAR shipyards and a diagonal red ESPECIMEN overprint. Security features include an ear of corn registration device, a solid security thread with printed BCV, an all-zero serial number, and a watermark of Amilcar Cabral.
