As part of the 1980-1997 Ethnic Minority series, the China 1 Jiao Banknote, along with other denominations, features images of several ethnic minority groups in the Peoples Republic of China. This particular 1-jiao banknote shows Gaoshan and Manchu men wearing their traditional clothing. The back side shows the national emblem and the inscription People's Bank of China one Jiao in four scripts: Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhang, the 4 principal ethnic minority languages supported by the state. This banknote has shades of brown and yellow and measures 115 x 52 mm. It has no security thread and no watermark.
