The 2005 100 Chinese yuan note is part of the 1999-2005 Mao series, the first series that had the currency spelled out in Roman letters on the back. The obverse side features Mao Zedong, with the national emblem of the Peoples Republic of China on the upper left hand corner and orchid flowers near the center. The reverse side features Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The security features of the note are a windowed security thread with a printed 100, a watermark of Mao Zedong, and an electrotype watermark of 100. The note measures 155 x 77 mm.
