The China 100 Yuan banknote was issued by the Peoples Bank of China in 2005. It is predominantly in red with hints of orange, yellow, green, and blue color combinations. The banknotes obverse comes in Chinese and depicts the national emblem of the Peoples Republic of China, orchid flowers, the denomination in Optically Variable Ink, and a picture of Mao Zedong who was the founder of the PRC. The back of the note is in Mongolian, Tibetan, Ulyghur, and Zhang. It features Greek Columns, the Great Hall of the People at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The 155 x 77 mm paper bill bears a windowed security thread with printed Y100. It is also designed with a watermark that reflects Mao Zedong and an electrotype 100. This paper bill has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
