This uncirculated 100 Chinese yuan banknote is a commemorative banknote issued by the People’s Bank of China to commemorate Aerospace Science and Technology in 2015. It is a blue, purple, and green banknote that measures 155 mm x 77 mm. Its obverse side features the national emblem of China, the Dongfanghong I satellite as a SPARK feature, the Shenzhou 9 manned spacecraft rendezvous and docking with Tiangong 1 Space Station, and the Chang’e 1 lunar orbiting spacecraft. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and shows the advancement of flight with a bird, a Joe Guey biplane, a twin-engine jet airline, the Shenzhou 9, Tiangong-1, and the Chang’e 1. Security features include a windowed security thread with printed 100, a denomination registration device, and a watermark of the Dongfanghong 1 satellite with an electrotype 100.
